HearthStone reaches 70 million players around the world”

Launched in 2014, HearthStone is a deceptively simple and insanely fun free strategy card game for everyone. Blizzard Entertainment@ asked adikteev to set up a branding campaign in order to promote the launch of a major expansion pack: Knights of the Frozen Throne (new cards and missions).

STRATEGY

To reach maximum exposure and boost interactions, adikteev targeted several interest relevant segments in order to reach the best audience:

  • Strategy games
  • Adventure games
  • Action games
  • Entertainment
  • Card games
  • Arcade

adikteev ran a campaign split in two parts:

  • a 2-week pre-launch phase (40% of budget) introducing only 1 new card
  • a reveal phase (60% of budget) showing 3 new cards right after the game was released

Using Blizzard@ Entertainment’s quality assets, adikteev developed highly interactive playable rich media ads to increase campaign performances:

RESULTS

Thanks to its interactive rich media ads, adikteev succeeded to reach a 89% viewability and 9% interaction, achieving a global CTR 50% higher than average standards. Combining with the right targeted segments, 54% of the audience was exposed to the ad for at least 10 seconds.
